i enjoy teaching others how to tell their own narratives,
teaching always make me feel like I am feeding someone's soul
Over the past month I have been doing a #mentalhealth/digital storytelling training in Kibera powered by Pollination Project's (#seedthechange) and with the BasicNeeds Fellows powered by BasicNeeds UK in Kenya (#bnkef). One of the things I am teaching them to do is to set up blogs so that they can tell their own narratives and through my blog, I have been able to achieve a lot besides the awards, I'd be a proud mama if their blogs won awards, awards way bigger than mine, I have been able to help others understand about mental health and epilepsy, provide assistance to those looking for information and also get therapy for myself. I am doing this training so that they get the same and so much more.
So far I have helped set up 8 blogs and look forward to many more especially from the Kibera group. As a way to promote the blogs, I have added them to my blogroll and will look for more way to market and drive traffic to them (ideas are welcome). This blog post is decThe English on some of the posts is not Oxford English so if it aches you so much, maybe it is a calling to teach the group English, honor it. Encourage them by reading their work, commenting and following the blogs.
